Wrexham exits Women's Champions League after loss to Riga FC

Wrexham's inaugural Women's Champions League campaign concluded on July 25 following a 4-1 defeat to Riga FC in the qualifying round. Wrexham initially took a lead with Lili Jones scoring in the ninth minute. However, Riga responded with four goals, overturning the deficit in the second half after Minami Oi equalized. Kumba Brima scored twice, while Laura Kallase and Shiori Kato added further goals, securing Riga’s advancement to the next stage. Wrexham had previously beaten FC Pyunik 4-2 in their Champions League debut earlier this week.
