WWE counters AEW with Worlds Collide during All Out weekend

It’s a new week, let’s get right into it. Lead Rumor: WWE counter programming AEW There’s still a lot of talk regarding WWE and its decision to counter program AEW this past weekend with Worlds Collide going up against All Out. To that end, Fightful Select brings word that it was all about impacting ticket sales, and while AEW did well in that regard — something WWE was willing to admit internally — they “were still happy” with how Worlds Collide performed. Also of note is the fact that apparently the decision to air the show via tape delay (spoilers available here, if you want them), or at least to withhold a live broadcast of it, was made “by early August.” Sticking with counter programming talk, Bryan Alvarez indicates NXT is presumed to have “at least one big main roster name” on the show when AEW airs Grand Slam France on Oct 6. He also said, the counter programming will continue but it will largely depend on how things go this week. The wars never end, it seems. Other rumors floating around Another Ilja Dragunov update from Fightful: He’s definitely coming into AEW, as materials have been prepared for his debut, but no one, “even top stars we’ve spoken to” seem to know when exactly he’ll show up on TV. They also say Will Ospreay’s Assassin’s Creed entrance at All Out was worked on for a month leading up to the show and is part of a four-year partnership. TNA is keeping its options open talent wise, with Fightful Select bringing word that Abadon, KJ Orso, B3CCA, and Shazza McKenzie all worked recent television tapings. None of them have been signed yet but it’s worth noting they were brought in. On the Johnny I Pro Show, John Morrison said he’s dealing with multiple injuries right now, including a tear in his bicep, an inflamed right shoulder capsule, and a rotator cuff sprain.
