Some people in WWE think the group should continue on, but only if it is refreshed with changes to the current list of members. However, there are others in the company who think The Vision has run its course following a series of major injuries and key losses on WWE programming. What’s more is that as of July 1, WWE’s marketing department still did not receive any word about updating SummerSlam’s promotional materials with Zayn as the champion. The outlet also says it was ESPN’s idea for WWE Night of Champions to include six total matches, rather than the standard five match count from many previous PLEs. ESPN felt that an extra match or two would add good value to the paid portion of Night of Champions on ESPN Unlimited. WWE PLEs are expected to keep this expanded format going forward, which includes the opening hour still being simulcast on ESPN’s cable channel. According to Wrestling Observer Radio’s Dave Meltzer, the AEW world championship match between MJF and Kenny Omega next week at Dynamite Beach Break was originally planned to take place at the Redemption pay-per-view on July 26. Co-host Bryan Alvarez says the change was made “fairly recently,” but it’s not clear why. PWInsider says it was actually WWE who blurred out Bron Breakker’s bloody head on the Night of Champions replay on Netflix. The edits that WWE made also replaced “Holy shit!” chants with “This is awesome!” There were multiple fan accounts that indicated Kyle Fletcher was injured and vomited at AEW’s Collision taping this week. However, Alvarez was told that Fletcher was not hurt, and he did not suffer a concussion. It’s been speculated to be a case of dehydration. After Eric Young was released by TNA this week, Meltzer was told that he will join WWE NXT as a player-coach, just like Shawn Spears’ role.
