WWE expresses concerns over Crown Jewel event in Saudi Arabia

WWE’s Crown Jewel premium live event is currently scheduled to take place on November 7 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. However, there are questions about whether WWE will need to change plans after the US government’s embassy there recently issued a Level 3 Travel Advisory warning citizens to “reconsider travel” to the region. Since that advisory was issued, a ballistic missile targeting Riyadh was intercepted. Needless to say, the idea of WWE traveling there to put on a major wrestling event seems like a very bad and dumb idea. A new report from WrestleVotes Radio now says there is “large concern within WWE” over this matter, with several people in the company who regularly travel to Saudi Arabia for these shows asking about a possible rescheduling. One source says WWE hasn’t even “formally acknowledged” the situation to its staff. People in WWE are under the impression that the company is “moving forward with this until someone simply says they just can’t.” That sounds about right given the history of WWE’s disgusting business relationship with the government of Saudi Arabia.
