WWE plans CM Punk vs. Roman Reigns rematch at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia

A new report today from PWInsider Elite indicates that WWE is returning to Saudi Arabia in November for its annual Crown Jewel PLE. It sounds like the current plan is to once again book men and women’s matches where the WWE Champion fights the World Champion to see who wins the extremely gaudy Crown Jewel Championship. The Money in the Bank PLE is scheduled for October 10 and Survivor Series takes place on November 28, so Crown Jewel probably fits on the calendar in early November, which is where WWE has sometimes scheduled it in the past. The report doesn’t directly state that a WrestleMania 42 rematch of WWE Champion CM Punk vs. World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns will happen at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia, but that’s what is currently lined up if neither star loses their respective championship before November. On the women’s side, the current top champions are Liv Morgan and Chelsea Green. Of course, there are plenty of ways these belts can change hands over the next two months. CM is defending his title against Kevin Owens tomorrow night (Aug. 21) on SmackDown in Toronto, while Roman has title defenses coming up on Raw in Mexico City in September, and against LA Knight some time after that. There is also the Money in the Bank contract gimmick in October that WWE can use for a sudden title change to get the exact champion versus champion matches they want at Crown Jewel in November.
