WWE Raw features Bloodline drama and title matches on August 17

Raw airs tonight (Aug. 17) with a live show emanating from KeyBank Center in Buffalo, New York. This is the third episode of Raw during the nine week build to Money in the Bank, which takes place on October 10. WWE has a plan to make the latest Bloodline drama way more interesting Jey Uso defeated Solo Sikoa last week on Raw, which means he now gets to “deliver” Sikoa to Roman Reigns on tonight’s episode. What exactly does that mean? Solo already pulled the wool over The Bloodline’s eyes last month in a similar scenario where he pretended to rejoin the family, so he probably won’t be able to repeat the same stunt this time. He’ll need some help to get away with trolling The Bloodline, and that’s where LA Knight enters the picture. Knight plans to beat Reigns for the world heavyweight championship soon, so he has to be involved in this angle. By rejecting Solo’s offer to join forces last week, and with so much time to go before Money in the Bank, the door is open for Solo to pretend to reunite with the family for a little while before his next big swerve takes place. And when that swerve happens and Sikoa turns on them again, LA Knight can be in the right position to whoop Roman’s ass. That’s just one possibility for how the angle will go from here. Another possibility is that Roman doesn’t even want to deal with Jey’s delivery of Solo tonight, because it wasn’t a play that he called, and he isn’t dumb enough to think one loss on Raw is enough to get Sikoa back in the fold. In that case, there can be growing tensions with Roman & Jacob Fatu versus The Usos for how to properly handle family business. What kind of chaos will ensue when Jey Uso delivers Solo Sikoa to The OTC tonight? Tune into Raw to find out. The rest of the card Intercontinental Champion Chad Gable puts his title on the line tonight against WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio. While hyping up this fight, Raw GM Adam Pearce referred to Rey as the greatest luchador of all-time. That means AAA Mega Champion Dominik Mysterio is probably the dirty shithead heel who will ruin this babyface versus babyface match, right? Sol Ruca goes one-on-one with Lyra Valkyria tonight. Both stars are looking to prove they deserve another shot at the women’s Intercontinental championship. Will Bayley return to make sure Lyra doesn’t win? Roman Reigns is scheduled to defend the world heavyweight championship on Raw in Mexico City on September 14. His opponent will be the winner of an ongoing tournament featuring WWE and AAA luchadors. The two opening round matches on tonight’s show are Dragon Lee vs. El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. and Rey Fenix vs. El Fiscal. If Fenix wins, does that mean we’re probably heading to a Lucha Bros final of Penta vs Fenix? Other stuff to keep an eye on – Becky Lynch and Stephanie Vaquer are back in WWE and arguing over who gets to beat the shit out of Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan.
