WWE rumors swirl around new Bloodline member and King of the Ring favorites

It’s one of the busiest weekends of the year in pro wrestling, with major shows scheduled in WWE, AEW, NXT, and TNA. Let’s see what today’s rumors have to say about it! Top rumor of the day: New member of The Bloodline? Roman Reigns quickly tried to reunite The Bloodline after winning the world heavyweight championship at WrestleMania 42. The Usos and Jacob Fatu have fallen in line to acknowledge their Tribal Chief, and it remains to be seen if Solo Sikoa will eventually follow suit. On top of that, there might actually be a brand new member of The Bloodline on the way to WWE. According to Fightful Select, 26-year-old Zilla Fatu was recently seen at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando. He is the son of former WWE star Umaga. Even though there has been plenty of speculation in recent years about WWE’s interest in potentially signing Zilla, Fightful was told that this “came about fairly recently.” If Roman is headed to a SummerSlam match with Oba Femi, then the OTC will likely need all the Bloodline backup he can get to retain his belt. Could that possibly include Zilla Fatu? We’ll surely find out soon enough. The rest of the rumors! BetOnline currently lists Oba Femi as the favorite to win the King of the Ring tournament today at WWE Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia. IYO SKY, Seth Rollins, and Cody Rhodes are also favored to win their respective matches on the PLE. Moving over to the AEW Forbidden Door pay-per-view on Sunday, some of the expected winners there include Will Ospreay, Kenny Omega, Jon Moxley, Thekla, Christian Cage & Adam Copeland, and Team Briscoe. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter says Bruce Prichard is returning to WWE and “has reportedly dropped a lot of weight.” He’s been away since WrestleMania due to back problems. PW Insider claims there was “internal unhappiness within WWE this week” after the entire episode of last night’s SmackDown was leaked online. It’s not clear how exactly that happened. During an interview this week with Chris Van Vliet, Big E said he pitched the idea of him ruining Kofi Kingston’s Royal Rumble save spot as payback for New Day’s heel turn, but “creative had other plans…I was told that’s something we can get to later.” F4WOnline’s Dave Meltzer mentioned that Scorpio Sky’s AEW contract is “due in a few months.” Meltzer says the main factor that led to TNA’s recent cost-cutting is that “the company is losing money,” even with the new AMC TV deal.
