WWE SummerSlam 2026 Night One highlights major matches and returns

Moments after WWE’s biggest premium live event of the summer comes to a close in Minneapolis and on ESPN Unlimited and Netflix tonight (Sun., Aug. 2, 2026), the SummerSlam Post Show will begin. That will feature a panel of familiar faces discussing what happened at U.S Bank Stadium, and talking to guests. We’ll certainly see some of the PLE’s big winners, and probably an angle or announcement or two. The Post Show after SummerSlam Saturday featured an unannounced Triple H press conference, the first of those we’ve seen in a long time. We’ll see if we get another of those this evening, or any other surprises from the game. With or without WWE’s Chief Content Officer, there’s a lot to talk about after Night Two of SummerSlam. Kevin Owens made a surprise return, making then ruining Sami Zayn’s night and becoming the #1 contender for the Undisputed WWE championship held by CM Punk in the process. In the least popular outcome of the night, Baron Corbin beat Trick Williams to take the Men’s United States title. But it was all smiles for Chelsea Green becoming interim Women’s champ, and Chad Gable winning his first singles belt in his hometown. Your collective mileage probably varies on the Danhausen pole match victory that happened in between those. The show ended with what might be the end of The Shield story. At least Roman Reigns thinks his win put it in the rearview for him. Much to discuss as get ready for Raw less than 24 hours away. We’ve heard KO and Chels the Champ will be on the Post Show. Night Two of this year’s SummerSlam will feature four title matches, and including the latest chapter of Seth Rollins vs. Roman Reigns for the OTC’s World Heavyweight belt, and five womens in a Ladder Match to crown an interim Women’s champ. We’ll have Men’s Intercontinental and United States title defenses, a match to determine who will next challenge for the Undisputed WWE championship, and… well, you’ll see. The event will get rolling at 3 p.m. Eastern with the free Countdown show, which runs for three hours on WWE and ESPN’s online outlets, among other places. That leads right on into the premium live event at 6 p.m. Eastern, which in the United States will be ESPN’s new streaming platform. Everywhere else (or if you take Stephanie McMahon’s advice), it’s on Netflix. That will feature a panel of familiar faces discussing what happened on the last PLE stop on the road to WrestleMania 42, and talking to guests — which used to always include Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque, but his attendance has been spottier as WWE creative has become less beloved, We’ll certainly see some of the PLE’s big winners, and probably an angle or announcement or two. Night One of SummerSlam opened with Liv Morgan making a statement with a clean win over IYO SKY, followed by LA Knight and my guy Solo “Dolo” Sikoa teaming with Royce Keys to get an upset win over The Bloodline when Knight pinned Jey Uso. Nick Aldis impressed the world, then got an ovation and a moment with his family as he possibly said goodbye. Fatal Influence picked up a big win, then The Bellas broke bad on Paige. The Undisputed WWE title didn’t main event, but it did feature the return of Randall Keith Orton, restarting his feud with Cody Rhodes and helping a seemingly unawares CM Punk retain. Hell in a Cell closed us out, and might have ended Brock Lesnar’s career after Oba Femi pinned him and received the proverbial torch from The Beast Incarnate.
