Yamaha management criticizes Fabio Quartararo for attitude during difficult MotoGP season

Yamaha management has publicly addressed the behavior of Fabio Quartararo following a tense weekend at Aragon. Executives expressed frustration with the rider's recent public criticism and his refusal to assist in developing the manufacturer's 2027 motorcycle. Paolo Pavesio, executive director of Yamaha Motor Racing, cited a lack of objectivity in the rider's assessment of new technical parts. Yamaha factory team director Massimo Meregalli contrasted the Frenchman’s approach with that of Jack Miller, who continues to maintain morale despite difficult performance cycles. The dispute follows disagreements regarding the transition to a V4 engine for the 2026 season. Quartararo, who is slated to leave the team in three months, indicated he will no longer test new components to focus on his own results. Yamaha plans to utilize future riders for upcoming development tests in Austria.
