New York Yankees right fielder Aaron Judge is sidelined due to a rib fracture, raising concerns about the club's performance and trade strategy. With Judge away, Spencer Jones steps up, while opportunities arise for Jasson Domínguez and Giancarlo Stanton upon his return. The Yankees also opted to call up catcher Ali Sánchez after optioning J.C. Escarra, seeking to improve their catching situation. Judge's absence affects not only the Yankees but also the broader MLB, particularly the AL MVP race, which may be wide open. Team officials express cautious optimism about the Yankees' ability to cope without their captain, given their improved roster depth compared to past seasons.
- •Judge injured with a rib fracture, expected back in the second half.
- •Spencer Jones receives more playing time in Judge's absence.
- •Yankees call up catcher Ali Sánchez from Triple-A.
- •Implications for AL MVP race without Judge and Ohtani.
- •Yankees look to enhance offense with players like Domínguez and Stanton.
