Yankees compete with Rays and Red Sox for All-Star catcher Goodman

Summary

The New York Yankees are pursuing an upgrade at catcher and are competing with the Tampa Bay Rays and Boston Red Sox for All-Star Hunter Goodman. Reports indicate Goodman, who is having a strong season with the Colorado Rockies, is in demand among multiple AL East teams. Goodman possesses impressive offensive numbers but has concerns related to his defensive abilities behind the plate. While the Yankees value defensive prowess in catchers, they may face stiff competition from their division rivals in negotiations, especially given the Rockies' high asking price for Goodman.
