The New York Yankees are exploring trade options as the August 3 deadline approaches. With a disappointing season from Austin Wells and limited backup catchers, Kansas City catcher Carson Kelly is identified as a potential target. At 31, Kelly has a.272 batting average and 17 home runs from 2025, making him a valuable addition. The Cubs' current stance as buyers factors into the potential trade discussions, but if they decide to sell, Kelly could be on the move. Acquiring him could significantly improve the Yankees' catching performance without a high cost.
