Yankees consider trading Ryan McMahon amid underwhelming performance

Summary

The New York Yankees are contemplating trading third baseman Ryan McMahon, whose struggles at the plate continue this season. McMahon, signed for $16 million, is batting.214 with a.655 OPS, disappointing the team since joining last year. Analysts suggest that parting ways with McMahon could help the Yankees address other roster needs, particularly seeking a catcher with better offensive production. With the MLB trade deadline approaching, the Yankees may look for a trade partner willing to take on McMahon's contract.
