Yankees defeat Red Sox 16-1 to secure season series victory

Summary

The New York Yankees defeated the Boston Red Sox 16-1 at Yankee Stadium on Saturday. Heliot Ramos hit a three-run home run in the fifth inning, which followed a contested replay review that allowed the inning to continue after a potential double play. The win grants the Yankees a 7-6 advantage in the season series, securing the head-to-head tiebreaker for potential playoff seeding. Boston struggled offensively throughout the contest, striking out seven times and managing only one walk. Red Sox pitcher Ranger Suarez allowed six earned runs in 5.1 innings, while Jovani Moran gave up five runs in 1.1 innings of relief. If the teams finish the regular season with identical records, the Red Sox will now travel to New York for the Wild Card series.
