Yankees' Elmer Rodriguez may get final chance before trade

Elmer Rodriguez, a pitching prospect for the New York Yankees, could receive another opportunity to showcase his skills in the majors before becoming potential trade bait. Rodriguez has performed well in Triple-A, holding a 2.59 ERA but has struggled in four big-league starts this season, allowing nine runs in 17 innings. With injuries to Ryan Weathers and Max Fried, Rodriguez's promotion back to the Yankees is a possibility. The team may prefer to avoid a bullpen game against the Houston Astros and could opt for Rodriguez instead, as trading from their minor-league pitching depth appears less favorable now. His ongoing challenges with command may impact his future with the organization.
