Yankees eyeing Tarik Skubal as free agency approaches

As free agency nears, the New York Yankees are reportedly interested in signing pitcher Tarik Skubal. The Yankees currently boast a strong rotation, featuring Cam Schlittler, Max Fried, Gerrit Cole, and Carlos Rodon, with a league-best 3.30 ERA. Skubal, a two-time Cy Young Award winner, is expected to command a substantial contract, potentially exceeding the $325 million deal of Yoshinobu Yamamoto. While there are no indications yet that the Yankees will pursue Skubal aggressively, adding him could solidify their rotation as one of the best in baseball history. The team's decision will impact their playoff prospects.
