The New York Yankees have released outfielder/first baseman Seth Brown before their series against the Chicago White Sox. Brown, who had been with the Yankees' Triple-A affiliate in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, opted for the release to seek better opportunities for playing time in the Majors. In 53 games this season, he recorded a.235 batting average with nine home runs and a.753 OPS. Previously, the 33-year-old played seven seasons with the Oakland Athletics, where he reached career highs in home runs and RBIs in 2022. The Yankees have Jasson Dominguez, Spencer Jones, and Max Schuemann ahead of Brown on the outfield depth chart.
