Yankees place Jazz Chisholm Jr. on injured list with thumb sprain

New York Yankees infielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. is heading to the injured list following a right thumb sprain sustained during Tuesday night's game. Manager Aaron Boone confirmed the move, stating that Chisholm will be shut down from all baseball activities for at least 7-10 days to facilitate recovery. The timing of the injury creates uncertainty for the team as the regular season nears its conclusion. While the club recently welcomed Aaron Judge back to the active roster, this setback removes a contributor who has recorded 19 home runs and 40 stolen bases this year. Officials have not provided a definitive timeline for a potential return to the field. The recovery duration leaves his availability for the upcoming postseason in question as the organization monitors his progress.
