Yankees prospect Christian Bethancourt hits two homers in Scranton debut

Christian Bethancourt made an impressive Triple-A debut for the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders on July 30, hitting two home runs in a dominant 11-0 victory over the Iowa Cubs. Bethancourt, recently signed to a minor-league deal, went 3-for-4 at the plate, recording four RBIs and three runs. This performance comes after the Yankees' recent struggles to solidify their catching depth, making Bethancourt a potential backup option. The team's offensive success was complemented by a strong pitching effort, with Alexander Cornielle pitching 5.2 scoreless innings. Other notable performances included Kenedy Corona, who also contributed a home run. The RailRiders look to continue their momentum in the upcoming games.
