Yankees rookie George Lombard Jr. exits game with knee injury

New York Yankees rookie shortstop George Lombard Jr. injured his right knee during the second inning of Game 2 against the Boston Red Sox on Saturday. Lombard had a brief delay after a checked swing but stayed in to hit a single. He later left the game after experiencing discomfort and was sent to New York-Presbyterian Medical Center for imaging. Yankees manager Aaron Boone described the situation as day-to-day. In the Yankees' 1-0 win over the Red Sox on Friday night, Lombard snapped a six-game error streak, setting a franchise record.
