Yankees send down J.C. Escarra, call up Ali Sanchez

The New York Yankees have optioned J.C. Escarra to Triple-A and promoted catcher Ali Sanchez in a roster move late Friday. YES Network's Jack Curry reported Sanchez possesses a.702 OPS and has hit most of his home runs against right-handed pitchers. Critics suggest the Yankees may be struggling to address their catcher issues, as Sanchez is not seen as a standout addition. A focus on improving Austin Wells' performance continues as the team evaluates its options. The Yankees may pursue trades to alleviate their catcher challenges as the season progresses.
