The New York Yankees announced that Anthony Volpe will play second base for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre as he adjusts to a new position. This comes after Volpe, previously the expected shortstop, has played three straight games at second. With George Lombard Jr. emerging as the Yankees' shortstop of the future, Volpe's switch may indicate a permanent move if he remains with the organization. Despite a challenging season, Volpe is reportedly maintaining a positive attitude and working hard to prove he is ready for a return to the MLB. His current batting average in the minors stands at.242 with 10 RBIs in 23 games.
