Yo-Yo Ma performs with Michigan band at halftime show

Yo-Yo Ma will join the Michigan Marching Band for a 'Lord of the Rings'-themed halftime show on September 26 at Michigan Stadium during the game against Iowa. The performance celebrates the 25th anniversary of the film 'The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring' and features selections arranged by Richard Frey, including pieces from Middle-earth. More than 100,000 fans are expected to attend this unique musical collaboration, which highlights the intersection of athletics and the arts. Following the performance, Ma will return to Ann Arbor for a recital on December 10.
