York High loses season opener to Harrisburg 40-19 at Small Field

York High faced Harrisburg in their season opener at Small Field, ultimately losing 40-19. The Bearcats struggled with four turnovers, which proved costly against the reigning District 3 Class 6A champions. After a competitive start, including a strong defensive showing that kept Harrisburg in check for much of the first half, York’s offense made strides with two touchdown passes from quarterback Austin Kehr. However, Harrisburg wore down the Bearcats' defense, leading to the defeat. Coach Bud Kyle noted that improvement is necessary, especially in reducing mistakes moving forward.
