York Knights sign St George Illawarra Dragons forward Blake Lawrie

The York Knights have officially announced the signing of St George Illawarra Dragons prop Blake Lawrie. The veteran forward, who has accumulated 171 NRL appearances since his 2017 debut, will join the Super League club on a two-year contract with an option for a third season. Lawrie’s departure from the Red V follows a significant roster overhaul at the Dragons that has seen multiple players, including Damien Cook, Tyrell Sloan, Luciano Leilua, Mathew Feagai, and Emre Guler, move to the Super League. York head coach Mark Applegarth identified Lawrie’s experience and leadership as essential components for the team’s future development. Lawrie is the second NRL forward recently recruited by the Knights, joining fellow signing Cameron McInnes from the Cronulla Sharks. He is expected to join the squad for the 2027 season.
