Yorktown girls golf wins second straight sectional championship

Yorktown girls golf secured its second consecutive sectional championship on September 19 at Crestview Golf Club in Muncie. The team achieved a score of 309, with all five players shooting 80 or below. Lilly Duncan earned low medalist honors with a 2-over-par 74. Delta and Monroe Central also qualified for next week's regional, posting scores of 323 and 331, respectively. Monroe Central's performance came despite a team member's serious injury earlier in the week, with players wearing yellow ribbons in her honor as they competed. The regional round is scheduled for September 26 at Edgewood Golf Club in Anderson.
