Yuuri Teramoto throws first pitch at Dodgers game

Yuuri Teramoto, a freshman at Hanamaki Higashi High School, delivered the ceremonial first pitch at Dodger Stadium on September 18, 2026, before the Los Angeles Dodgers' game against the San Francisco Giants. Teramoto is part of an Iwate prefecture exchange program celebrating its 150th anniversary. Inspired by Shohei Ohtani, she had previously attended high school in Iwate. Her pitch was caught by Roki Sasaki, another Iwate native whose father died in the 2011 tsunami. Teramoto's team practices with a pitching machine donated by Ohtani.
