Zabit Magomedsharipov describes Umar Nurmagomedov's knockout loss as bad luck

Zabit Magomedsharipov addressed the recent knockout loss of Umar Nurmagomedov following the main event of UFC Shanghai on August 29. During a press conference for the ACBJJ 22 event, Magomedsharipov characterized the finish by Yadong Song as a lucky punch rather than a technical failing. The loss marked the second professional defeat for Nurmagomedov and his first ever by way of a stoppage. Despite the outcome, which removed Nurmagomedov from immediate title contention, Magomedsharipov expressed confidence in his compatriot's ability to return to competition. Yadong Song has since requested a title opportunity following the win. The division currently looks toward the upcoming bout between Petr Yan and Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 333 to determine the next championship challenger.
