Former BYU quarterback Zach Wilson secured a position on the New Orleans Saints' final 53-man roster this Sunday. Wilson impressed during the preseason, completing 28 of 40 pass attempts for 293 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. He competed throughout the offseason against Spencer Rattler for a spot behind starting quarterback Tyler Shough. The Saints elected to retain both Wilson and Rattler following his preseason performance. This addition marks a new stage for the former second-overall draft pick, who previously played for the New York Jets, Denver Broncos, and Miami Dolphins. The Saints begin the 2026-27 regular season on the road against the Lions on September 13.
