Zachary Athekame, 21, is set to join Olympique Lyonnais on loan from AC Milan, as confirmed by RMC Sport. The deal is a loan without an option to buy and reportedly has been agreed upon. Athekame, who moved to AC Milan from Young Boys for around €10 million last summer, made 29 appearances last season, contributing two goals and two assists. His transfer to Lyon follows interest from other clubs and is expected to coincide with Ainsley Maitland-Niles' departure. Athekame is also coming off a successful first season that earned him a call-up to the Swiss national team, although he has yet to debut.
