Za'Kari Johnson reclassifies to 2027, schedules FSU visit for September

Four-star safety Za'Kari Johnson, originally part of the 2028 recruiting class, has reclassified to 2027 and will visit Florida State University on September 7 for their game against SMU. The Fort Lauderdale product, who previously played quarterback, is expected to switch to defensive back at the collegiate level. Johnson, who has maintained interest from FSU since receiving a scholarship offer in September 2025, also plans to explore options with Auburn and Georgia Tech. His reclassification has affected his rankings, dropping him to No. 21 athlete and No. 26 player in Florida for the 2027 class according to 247Sports.
