Vega — along with her husband, Aleister Black — was among the large group of wrestlers released by WWE this spring. The name “Zelina Vega” that she used during her two runs with WWE is owned by the company, as is reportedly “Queen Zelina,” which she was known by for a period of time after winning the Queen of the Ring tournament in 2021. Vega, whose real name is Thea Trinidad Büdgen, seemingly wants to be billed as “Xelina” following her return to the ring. She filed a trademark application with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) for “Xelina” on July 20. The USPTO accepted her application, which is notable for also including language that seemingly describes her work as a Twitch streamer. The description from Vega’s application reads: “IC 041: Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibits and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer; Providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; Providing sports information in the field of wrestling; Providing a website featuring entertainment information in the fields of sports; Providing entertainment information in the field of sports via online community portal; Event management services being organizing and conducting special events for social entertainment purposes; Providing on-line newsletters in the field of sports entertainment; Providing online, non-downloadable, short-form videos in the field of sports entertainment via social media websites.” In addition to Xelina, fans can expect to see a lot of other former WWE stars soon. When Vega was released in April, she was joined in the WWE cuts by the entire Wyatt Sicks faction, Kairi Sane, Alba Fyre, Santos Escobar, Zoey Stark, and The Motor City Machine Guns, among others. Soon after the massive roster cuts were announced, news broke that Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods of The New Day had also departed from the company. What do you think about Vega’s new name? Excited to see where Xelina may wrestle next? Let us know in the comments.
