Zverev, Auger-Aliassime exit Montreal Masters in second round

At the ATP Montreal Masters on August 5, top seed Alexander Zverev and second seed Felix Auger-Aliassime were eliminated within hours of each other. Zverev lost to Dutch player Tallon Griekspoor in a second-round match, falling 6-7 (3/7), 6-2, 6-4. Auger-Aliassime had to withdraw before his match due to a back injury sustained during training. The tournament is already notable for the absence of world number one Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic. Other key matches included the defending champion Ben Shelton defeating Jenson Brooksby and Joao Fonseca beating Stefanos Tsitsipas.
