The San Francisco 49ers activated defensive tackle Alfred Collins from the Active/PUP List on July 31, 2026, allowing him to participate in training camp. Collins was recovering from shoulder surgery and is expected to contribute after a promising rookie season. The team anticipates a significant leap in performance from Collins as they prepare for the upcoming season, especially given the absence of Mykel Williams on the Active/PUP. With the interior pass rush impacted by Garcen Halton's injury, Collins' development as a pass rusher is crucial for the 49ers.
- •Alfred Collins is a former top-50 pick.
- •Collins had shoulder surgery prior to his activation.
- •Mykel Williams remains on the Active/PUP List.
- •Garcen Halton is dealing with a bone bruise.
- •Collins aims to improve his pass-rushing ability from last season.
