Aaron Donald status remains uncertain for Rams Week 1 game against 49ers

The Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers open their season in Melbourne, Australia, but the availability of defensive tackle Aaron Donald is currently unknown. Rams head coach Sean McVay indicated the team will evaluate Donald on a day-to-day basis following his return to the practice field. The organization plans to use the next week and a half to determine if he is physically prepared to participate in the international matchup. Meanwhile, the 49ers are managing the recovery of tight end George Kittle, who is working back from an Achilles injury sustained in January. The 49ers must finalize their travel logistics and roster preparations on a shorter timeline than Los Angeles before departing for Australia. If active, Donald is expected to challenge a San Francisco offensive line that includes left guard Carver Willis.
