Acuña and Riley lead Braves to 5-4 win over Phillies

Ronald Acuña Jr. hit a three-run home run and Austin Riley provided a go-ahead triple in the eighth and ninth innings to lead the Atlanta Braves to a 5-4 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies on Sunday. The win extends the Braves' lead in the NL East to five games. Acuña tied the game in the eighth inning by hitting a 100.5-mph fastball from Alex McFarlane into the right-field seats. In the ninth, Ozzie Albies doubled off Jhoan Duran, setting up Riley’s deciding triple. Dylan Lee earned the win for the Braves, while Raisel Iglesias secured his 31st save. The Phillies received a strong starting effort from Aaron Nola, who allowed one run over seven innings, and saw Kyle Schwarber hit his 42nd home run. The two teams are scheduled to finish their four-game series on Monday afternoon with Grant Holmes starting for Atlanta against Jesus Luzardo.
