Akbar Abdullaev faces Ednilson Santos at Dana White's Contender Series 92

Akbar Abdullaev will fight Ednilson Santos in a lightweight bout at Dana White's Contender Series 92. The event takes place September 15 at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas. Abdullaev, who holds an undefeated 13-0 professional record with 12 knockouts and one submission, replaces original opponent Anthony Figueroa. Figueroa withdrew from the matchup for undisclosed reasons. Santos, who trains at Cruz MMA in New Jersey, enters the fight on one week's notice following a unanimous decision victory over Shaheen Santana in May. Abdullaev previously competed for ONE Championship and seeks a UFC contract through this appearance. The promotion confirmed the adjustment to the lineup at the conclusion of the DWCS 91 broadcast.
