Alabama defeated Kentucky 45-17 on Friday in Lexington, behind a second-half resurgence from the Crimson Tide run game. Despite recording only 34 sack-adjusted rushing yards in the first half and dealing with three turnovers, the Alabama offense improved its production as the game progressed. Backs Daniel Hill, EJ Crowell, and Trae'shawn Brown combined for three rushing touchdowns in the second half, during which the team averaged 6.3 yards per carry. Coach Kalen DeBoer noted that penalties and sacks hindered the early execution, but the improved ground attack successfully provided pressure relief for quarterback Keelon Russell. The Crimson Tide finished the contest with 155 total rushing yards on 40 carries while the defense held the Wildcats scoreless through the final two quarters.
