Andre Camp appointed interim football head coach at Fort Meade

Andre Camp has been named interim head coach for Fort Meade football after Maurice Russell's dismissal, effective immediately. Russell was let go before the start of the regular season, following two years in which he had a 13-11 record, including a playoff appearance last season. Principal Seth Lambert communicated the decision, citing ongoing concerns regarding adherence to policies. Camp, formerly an assistant under Russell, will lead the team through the remainder of the season, with plans to officially fill the head coach position afterwards. Fort Meade opened its 2026 season with a 32-0 loss to Hardee and faces Lake Region next.
