Anicet Dybantsa was selected as the first overall pick by the Washington Wizards during the 2026 NBA Draft on June 23. The BYU forward, who averaged 25.5 points per game in his freshman season, requested to be called by his first name, Anicet, to honor his father, Anicet Dybanta Sr. Dybantsa received consensus All-American honors and was named Big 12 Rookie of the Year. He will join Alex Sarr and Anthony Davis in the Wizards' front court.
