The one-time UFC challenger was arrested in July following a domestic incident with his wife in Nebraska. Smith faces a total of four felony charges, including an attempt of a class 1/1A/1B/1C/1D felony — a class 2 felony — terroristic threats and two charges of first degree false imprisonment, and pled not guilty to the charges on Aug. 17. Smith, and his wife, have maintained that the alleged story involving his arrest may not be what it seems. Smith was granted permission to travel to the Dominican Republic to compete at the event during his most recent hearing.
