Antwone Kelly set to become fourth Aruban pitcher in MLB history
Summary

The Pittsburgh Pirates promoted Antwone Kelly ahead of their game against the Miami Marlins on June 12, 2026. Kelly will become the fourth pitcher from Aruba to reach MLB, following Calvin Maduro, Sidney Ponson, and Radhames Dykhoff. The 22-year-old, ranked as Pittsburgh’s seventh-best prospect, has primarily served as a starter but will debut as a reliever. Kelly has a fastball that can reach impressive speeds and has shown improved performance recently, recording a 3.00 ERA in his last seven outings. He expressed excitement about representing Aruba and contributing to the Pirates’ bullpen, which has struggled this season.
