Armada High School's softball team claimed its first MHSAA Division 2 state championship with a 9-1 victory against Farmington Hills Mercy on June 13 at Secchia Stadium. The Tigers, led by freshman pitcher Megan Cox, built a substantial lead early, scoring in the first inning with a two-run homer by Taylor Capozzo. Throughout the match, Cox recorded 13 strikeouts and contributed an RBI triple in the fifth inning to help secure the win.
