Aston Villa negotiates transfer for Club Brugge defender Joel Ordonez
Summary

Aston Villa has initiated discussions with Club Brugge regarding the transfer of defender Joel Ordonez. The club is targeting the Ecuador international as a potential replacement for Ezri Konsa. Villa had an offer for Taylor Harwood-Bellis rejected earlier this week and is looking to bolster its defense with a younger player. Ordonez, who has 20 caps for Ecuador, participated in the 2026 World Cup and has played extensively in the Champions League. The club will need to increase its offer from £18 million plus add-ons to secure his signing, as they continue talks with Southampton regarding Harwood-Bellis.
