Atlanta Falcons establish initial 53-man roster for the 2026 season

The Atlanta Falcons finalized their initial 53-man roster on Sunday following a series of personnel moves. The team retained four quarterbacks, including undrafted rookie Jack Strand and veteran Cooper Rush. Undrafted cornerback Malcolm DeWalt earned a spot on the initial roster, while defensive lineman Carlos Allen Jr. was released. The team also agreed to trade cornerback Clark Phillips III and a fifth-round draft pick to the Chicago Bears in exchange for defensive tackle Gervon Dexter. This transaction remains pending finalization and does not yet impact the current roster count. Several players, including edge rusher James Pearce Jr. and offensive tackle Storm Norton, were placed on reserve lists as the team prepared for the start of the season.
