Auburn football secures first commitment for 2028 recruiting class

Auburn football has signed its first player for the 2028 recruiting cycle, with three-star quarterback Sam Sollie from Gadsden, Alabama, announcing his commitment. Sollie chose Auburn over SEC rivals such as Florida, Tennessee, and Mississippi State. The 6-foot-3, 180-pound quarterback had a productive season at Gadsden City High School, throwing for over 1,300 yards and leading his team to the Class 6A playoffs. His commitment follows a strong trend for head coach Alex Golesh, who is successfully recruiting talent from Alabama, with several top recruits already committed for 2027.
