Ava Nagel commits to the Marquette women's soccer program

Bay Port junior Ava Nagel announced her commitment to play college soccer at Marquette on August 30. The midfielder entered the recruiting process with several schools at the top of her list, including Auburn, Wisconsin, Saint Louis, and Creighton. After the NCAA contact window opened on June 15, Nagel narrowed her choices before deciding on the Golden Eagles and coach Chris Allen. Nagel previously played for the Bay Port high school team as a freshman before moving to club play with FC Wisconsin to gain further exposure. She is the second sibling in her family to commit to a Division I soccer program, following her older sister, Emma Nagel. Marquette begins its current season with a 3-0-3 record heading into a scheduled match against Baylor. Nagel intends to play her final two seasons of high school eligibility at Bay Port.
