College SportsBakersfield College earned a 28-14 road victory over Allan Hancock on Saturday in Santa Maria. Freshman running back Corey Watkins Jr. carried the offense for the Renegades, recording three touchdown runs of 7, 4, and 5 yards. Sophomore running back Jayson Grant added a 12-yard rushing touchdown to help secure the result. Despite being outgained 374-298 in total offense, Bakersfield College capitalized on defensive turnovers, including interceptions by Ethan Eckles and Chase Furtado. Allan Hancock responded with touchdowns from Trevin Young and Tyson Scott, but the Renegades maintained their lead throughout the second half. The victory keeps Bakersfield College undefeated early in the season following their opening win against Santa Ana. The Renegades return home to Memorial Stadium this Saturday to face Ventura.
