Barcelona continues to monitor FC Twente's Ruud Nijstad for defense

Summary

Barcelona remains interested in 18-year-old FC Twente defender Ruud Nijstad. The club aimed to strengthen its central defense but was unable to secure a transfer in the summer. Although Nijstad is focused on his role at Twente, Barcelona intends to keep tabs on him as they seek a left-footed center-back. Injuries to players like Andreas Christensen have intensified the need for reinforcements. Barcelona’s pursuit may become more serious in future transfer windows, particularly next summer.
