Barcelona focuses on Julian Alvarez amid Lautaro Martinez speculation

Summary

FC Barcelona is navigating a crucial transfer period as sporting director Deco prioritizes Julian Alvarez for the 2026-27 season. Reports suggested Lautaro Martinez from Inter Milan could serve as a backup option if Alvarez cannot be signed. However, Barcelona has firmly denied any interest in Martinez, stating they have not contacted him at all. The club remains committed to pursuing Alvarez despite acknowledging the challenges in securing the transfer. As outgoing transactions begin, including Ferran Torres’ potential move to PSG, Barcelona is also exploring options for young and experienced strikers should they need alternatives.
